SKATEBOARDERS
GET INTERNET ACCESS
AT VANS SKATEPARKS NATIONWIDE
BROOMFIELD,
Colo. - Kiosk Information Systems is currently producing Internet
kiosks for use by skateboarders, in-line skaters and BMX freestyle
riders in Vans Skateparks nationwide. The kiosks, located in lounge
areas inside the parks and in Vans stores, allow users to access
the Vans Web site for information on Vans footwear products, dealers,
events, contests, skatepark construction and more.
Vans opened
its eighth skatepark at the Westminster Promenade in Westminster,
Colorado on Friday, June 8, 2001. KIOSK installed two KT-110 Stealth
standard kiosks equipped with touch screen technology for ease of
use in the new Westminster facility. In addition to the Westminster
location, Vans operates seven parks in Orange, CA, Bakersfield,
CA, Ontario, CA, Woodbridge, VA, Milpitas, CA, Houston, TX and Moorestown,
NJ. Additional skateparks are scheduled to open throughout the United
States and Canada throughout 2002. All parks will feature multiple
KIOSK standard Internet kiosks.
KIOSK
President Rick Malone views the Vans project as an example of how
standard products can benefit the most progressive companies. "Unlike
our custom designed machines, standard kiosks require very little
engineering, which results in speedy customer delivery. The sleek
design of the KT-110 Stealth kiosk functions as an artistic accessory
for Vans. Yet, it also provides users with all the information they
need on Vans products and services."
