Thin Client Terminals
Overview
Many of our customers have specialized computing requirements which can require integration of a thin client terminal.
Some of the thin client manufacturers KIOSK customers have used include the HP Compaq 5700-series, Wyse and the Wyse90, Dell Thin Client, and others.
Additionally there are multi-user terminals (such as Ncomputing) that facilitate multiple RDP clients supported by
one central host PC. Two of the more common protocols will be RDP and ICA by Citrix.
Thin clients may include POE or Power Over Ethernet options, require low power, miniITX or nanoITX form factors, and also have the ability to
function in wide environmental conditions.
Thin Clients also come with different Operating System or O/S choices. The potential OS varies from
vendor specific O/S to Linux to all variants of Windows (XP Pro, XP Embedded, POSReady, WePOS or CE).
