KIOSK
INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPS INTERACTIVE KIOSKS FOR TICKETMASTER'S
ULTIMATE FAN LOYALTY PROGRAM
BROOMFIELD,
Colo. - Kiosk Information Systems is currently producing interactive
kiosks for use by event attendees in sports facilities and entertainment
venues nationwide. A key component of Ticketmaster's UltimateFan
Loyalty Program, the kiosks are designed to issue rewards to sport
and music fans based upon their repeat attendance at sporting events,
concerts, and other family-oriented shows such as the circus and
the Ice Capades. During a 10-to-15-second visit, the interactive
KIOSK kiosks enhance the fan experience for event attendees while
rewarding them for their patronage.
Upon signing
up for the UltimateFan Loyalty Program in any participating venue,
event ticket holders receive a barcoded membership card that they
scan at one of the interactive kiosks to activate their personal
account. Each time they scan, cardholders receive an audible greeting
from a recognizable personality, as well as coupons for concession
and/or merchandise discounts. In addition, fans accumulate points
and automatically receive reward vouchers upon reaching specified
reward levels. Rewards range from key chains and T-shirts to rink
or courtside seats, lunch with the players or a ride on a team jet.
Members increase their ability to earn top prizes by attending multiple
games and events at the venue. Fans can scan their Loyalty cards
only once during each visit to the venue.
Ticketmaster
is deploying 30 interactive KIOSK kiosks in three entertainment venues
this fall. Ten kiosks - branded the "Frequent Fang" -
were installed in September in the Gaylord Entertainment Center
for fans of the NHL's Nashville Predators. On Oct. 31, the Rose
Garden in Portland, Ore. is installing 10 "Fans First"
kiosks for all venue attendees, including supporters of the NBA's
Portland Trailblazers. The NBA's Seattle Sonics and the Seattle
Storm of the WNBA plan to launch their fan appreciation program
on Nov. 1 with 10 "Green and Gold Rewards" kiosks.
"By working
with KIOSK, Ticketmaster was able to deploy kiosks that were both
sophisticated and user-friendly," said Blaine LeGere, director
of operations and client services for Ticketmaster. "We asked
KIOSK to deliver a customized kiosk with a prominent footprint and
back lit panels with sufficient space for team and sponsor branding.
The units also needed to be mobile to allow our clients to reposition
them around their venues at a moment's notice. KIOSK came back to
us with an attractive enclosure design that encompassed all of our
specified components. The kiosks feature touch screens, omni-directional
barcode scanners and ticket presenters, and the design allows for
convenient computer and printer maintenance. KIOSK was responsive
to our needs and able to turn the units out very quickly."
Rick Malone,
president of KIOSK, viewed the Ticketmaster project as an example
of the limitless functions and benefits of kiosks. "Ticketmaster
had specific engineering requirements for their units in order to
maintain accessibility and compatibility in various arenas. We were
able to meet their needs and deliver a model that complemented their
UltimateFan program."
