KIOSK INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND VAIL RESORTS
TEAM UP TO CREATE HIGH TECH TICKET KIOSKS

Broomfield, Colo. – Kiosk Information Systems recently designed and produced lift ticket kiosks for Vail Resorts, Inc. to make lift ticket purchases quick and easy. The outdoor kiosks, located in Vail Village, Lionshead and Beaver Creek, are operational during the ski season and allow skiers and snow riders to purchase one to three day lift tickets with a credit card reducing the amount of time they spend standing in line at the ticket counter.

Casey Parliament, a business analyst for Vail Resorts, Inc., said lift ticket kiosks are part of the company’s customer relations plan. According to Parliament, "Vail Resorts feels self-service kiosks will become an integral part of our future ticketing strategy. Deploying kiosks at our four resorts and at various Front Range locations will allow skiers and riders to purchase lift tickets when it is convenient for them. In turn, our customers can spend more time on the slopes and less time waiting in lines."

KIOSK has designed and manufactured high tech kiosks since 1993. President Rick Malone sees the Vail Resorts lift ticket kiosks as another example of how public terminal technology can enhance customer service. "Kiosk technology can be applied to virtually any retail application. The Vail Resorts project was particularly challenging because the kiosks had to be designed to operate in an outdoor environment and have the capability to handle rapid transactions."
