The winners of the 6th Annual Kiosk Awards were announced in a presentation Tuesday at the Self-Service & Kiosk Show, held Oct. 17-18 in San Francisco.
NetWorld Alliance vice president and associate publisher Joseph Grove announced the nominees and winners in eight categories, plus the "Readers Choice" winner. Grove also functions as editor of Kiosk magazine, which co-sponsored the competition.
The Swift Informer kiosk project by Netkey and KIOSK InformationSystems won two awards at the Self-Service and Kiosk Show in San Francisco, receiving First Place honors in the Best Kiosk (General) category, and Second Place in the Best New Kiosk (Application) category. Twenty-seven companies submitted 42 entries in eight categories to the competition. Rigorous hands-on judging of the Swift kiosk and application was conducted at the show by three experts in self-service.
The Swift Informer kiosks provide drivers, mechanics and other employees with secure online access to payroll, benefit, permit, training and safety information, truck repair manuals and parts availability, as well as e-mail, company news, weather and directions.
